History of the Pharmacy
B&G Corporation and what would later become Guthrie's
Pharmacy was started in 1955 by Vic Scales Sr. It was operated by
Mr. Scales until it was purchased by Robert Bloss and John Guthrie in 1978. In 1988
John purchased the pharmacy and the name Guthrie's Pharmacy was adopted and is still in use today at
its current location at 520 West Lincoln Chandler, IN (see
map above).
In 2003, Warrick Pharmacy in Boonville IN closed and their pharmacist
Bill Voegel, as well as several other employees
were brought onboard. Guthrie's Pharmacy has been a
landmark in Chandler for decades with its professional,
quality service in a family-like atmosphere. In addition to
the pharmacy the building also houses an antique mall with a wide
selection of antique furniture and household objects. Guthrie's
Pharmacy is the only independently
owned pharmacy in Warrick County, as well as being the only pharmacy
in the County to provide free delivery service.
